The Taurus PT Millenium Pro in .40 S&W has definitely proven to be well worth its MSRP. Recoil was definitely suprising, but, considering that the gun is a .40 caliber, compact, polymer-frame pistol, it was no more than one should expect. As a word of warning, I would say this. A friend of mine did experience two failure-to-ejects with this particular handgun. He is an amateur shooter and was not holding on to the gun very well. This gun does not forgive limp-wristers! Maintain a proper grip and a good shooting technique, and it will function. If you want to shoot lazily, I suggest a good revolver.
The weight and concealability are great, and disassembly is not difficult. The only complaint that I would have would have to be the sights. I am not a fan of 8-ball sights. They just aren't the best sights for my application. However, regardless of my preference concerning sights, I was still hitting center mass at 7 to 15 yards with very little effort, so the sights are plenty effective and not in any way a mark against the pistol.
For the money, this firearm is a deal. Don't expect a smooth-shooting, tack-driving dream gun. That is not what this pistol is, nor does it claim to be that. This pistol is a close-range, save-your-skin gun, and in that role, it performs admirably. Practice with it, treat it well, and it will do so in kind.
