I received my Survivor in about two weeks. The online purchase went smooth and was easy.
The shotgun comes with three chokes and a tool (like a skate key) to screw the chokes in and out. The key and extra chokes store in the fore piece, a nice feature. Two, 5 round 3" .410 packages easily fit in the stock and I am sure many more if carefully packed. There are adjustible plastic sub-dividers in both the fore grip and stock.
When I first shot the gun I used 2.5" shells with 000 buckshot, three pellets. I read the instructions carefully prior and expected the shells to be ejected. I had to manually remove them from the chamber. When I fired the first .45 Colt round it stuck in the chamber and I had to use a cleaning rod to eject the round. Upon inspection of the ejection post I could see that it was considerably out of round and was jamming against the shell casing.
I used my model railroading skills and carefully filed the high part. Still jammed. I filed the curved part of the ejection post and with much consternation got it working perfectly. Being handy helps. I probably should have returned it.
So now I could shoot a few rounds without jamming. It is a sweet shooting gun. I tore up a few phone books with buckshot rounds including 3".
IMPORTANT! The gun has a fully rifled barrel so you cannot shoot .410 slugs. As mentioned in an earlier post, your slug is a .45 Colt bullet. You will more than likely ruin the choke threads if you shoot slugs. I shot a boxful of .45 Colt 260 grain and tore up a few more phone books. I found the gun to have a nice feel with the .45 colts. In fact it was impressive. The single bead site is ok for shotshells but .45 is a little ify. I mounted a red dot sight on the rail and that makes things sweet. The gun is tapped for standard scope mount too. I actually prefer the .45 Colt to shotshells.
All and all a great gun for youths or smaller people who have trouble with the recoil of a 12 guage.
